For the past six months, National has been working with one of the world's leading PC diagnostic software developers, Eurosoft, so that we could make a very significant improvement to our warranty service. It has taken us much longer than planned, but we believe the result is very well worth it.
NWS is very pleased to announce that, by special arrangement with Eurosoft, all NWS warranties now include a licensed copy of a pre-configured their PC Check software.
This software sells retail from the manufacturer, with loopback plugs, for over $A300. Yet, amazingly, we have managed to include it free (without the loopback plugs) with every NWS warranty to make our warranties & service dramatically better.
See Check PC Check v5.65 Australian pricing here..
By adding licensed diagnostic software to every National warranty, our clients, and Service Agents, can far more readily and accurately identify any specific faulty PC component.
This means that -
- confusion and disagreement about hardware and software faults is eliminated;
- the correct part can be identified and supplied prior to initial site visit;
- which means that the need for two site visits is greatly reduced;
- thus reducing down time for the user, and service and travel time for the Service Agent.
We feel that this initiative is totally fantastic improvement to NWS warranty service, and we believe you will agree.
In addition, all Authorised NWS Resellers and Service Agents can download their own free licensed copy of the software, PC Check. |

AVAILABLE FOR ALL NWS WARRANTY HOLDERS & RESELLERS
To use this free pre-configured licensed diagnostic software package, you require a valid licence key.
All registered NWS warranty holders, and Authorised NWS Resellers & Service Agents, can obtain their PC-Check Licence Key by phoning (1300 765 860) during business hours, or emailing NWS (pccheck@nationalwarranties.com.au) after they have downloaded the PC-Check software (you tell us the code the software displays when installing, and we tell you, or email you the matching licence key). Your NWS warranty must already be registered, or registered at the same time.
The software key is for one PC only. You install and obtain separate keys for each PC that has a NWS warranty.
You need this licence key when creating self-booting floppy disk. See Instructions below for details.
Please note that with current version of software, you need a floppy disk drive (and floppy disk). This is because software works without needing any operating system and writes test results back to floppy disk. To automate a process to reliably write to other media such as CD, without any operating system would be extremely difficult. The software developers are working on a version that supports USB which will make it easier to install and use.
Your NWS warranty must already be registered, or registered at the same time.
PLEASE NOTE: To be able to use the software when your PC has a problem, you need to have downloaded and installed diagnostic software PRIOR to any fault, ie, when you first register warranty.
For more details and installation instructions, see below. |

Download & Installation Instructions
NOTE: The downloaded software is used to create a separate self-booting floppy disk that runs without any need for any working PC operating system; however, you should create the floppy immediately - BEFORE you need to use it, as it is quite likely that you will not be able to create the floppy once the PC has a fault.
Once created, you can boot the PC off the floppy at any time, and run the tests you wish. You will need to remove floppy and reboot PC when tests are complete. You can then read, copy, email, or print the test results from the floppy disk. Depending on the faults your PC may have, you may need access to another PC to do this.
NOTE: The floppy disk is specifically for the PC you create it on. It will not work on another PC. Each PC needs an separate licence key and floppy.
NOTE: Some diagnostic functions, mentioned in the accompanying Manual, cannot be used without the necessary loop back plugs or specific media. For speed, ease of use, and to prevent confusion, these tests are omitted from the pre-bundled package, and we have omitted any potentially data-destructive tests.
NOTE: As the software is specifically designed to run independently of the system operating system, no network devices (such as printers) will be detected (nor any Windows functions or drivers).
NOTE: Although all data destructive tests have been deliberately excluded, we expressly accept no liability for any damage or loss of data or software whatsoever.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Download ZIP file using the first link above and SAVE into an appropriate directory or Folder.
- Unzip the ZIP file into same directory or folder
- Run the SETUP.EXE file you have unzipped
This will ask you to insert a floppy disk into floppy disk drive. This disk should be a blank formatted disk. Note: sometimes you will need to try more than one floppy disk.
The floppy is not only used to save the diagnostic software, but also to write the test results to.
Due to technical difficulties, it is not possible to use a CD or DVD for this process; however, a USB solid state device, eg a USB Memory Stick, may be able to be use instead of floppy shortly.
- The screen will display a four digit code and ask you to enter a licence key.
- You then call NWS with this code (or email if you have another PC), and we will give you a valid licence key to enter.
Note: You only need to do this the first time you run software.
- You will then see a PC-Check Menu Screen, with several options, including a Basic Tests option and an Advanced Tests option.
- Basic Test option tests your CPU processor, RAM (memory), HDD (hard disk), and video memory. The Advanced Tests option tests everything possible without any loop-back plugs or media
- When the tests are complete, the results are saved on the floppy disk, and if the screen is working, you can scroll through the test results on screen.
- To restore normal PC operation, you must remove floppy disk and reboot PC.
